Those w/ service manual or if u just know,3 long 2 short flashes on "self diagnostic". We just ran it on the ECU and that's what we got. What problem does it say this is? Thanks in advance.

it is part of the exhaust system that lets the exhaust through if the gas temperature sensor reads the correct temp. If you are under your car, it is just to the left of the oil filter, and a little above it. It has one plug into it for the temperature sensor and there is a bolt sticking out the back that hold it.

ok, this time i have the right information, straight from the book
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System
general discription:
1-The EGR system id used to lower NOx emission levels caused by high combustion temperatures
2-my own words- it is the silver can with a mexican sombrero looking thing on top of it.
Check
3-check all the hoses and connections around it for leaks or anything
4-let the car idle until it reaches normal operating temperature.
5-with someone holding the canister thing, abruply rev the engine and see if it moves. Repeat several times
6-if there is no repsonse, you could check it with a vaccum hose thing, or take it in, because if it is broke it is real damn harm to install a new one(like a page of explanations)

Alright check this out according to haynes and personal experience , a code 302 is the EGR ( exhaust , gas recirculation ) valve . A quick easy way to check it is , put your palm on top of the valve , take your middle finger and using just the tip push up on the inside of the EGR valve . There should be a little bit of resistence . If the EGR valve moves in and out it is ok , and pray it is as these are expensive . AHHHHH ! the lengths we go to fo firme hynas . Refer to sig . John

Could be EGR temp sensor-located between 3 & 4 cyl, top of intake. Remove & clean w/ carb cleaner- Carbon on it- Install & reset UCU. Good Luck
Correct sir:), I had the same problem last week, the hose came off of the bottom on it
