Tips and help for my Nissan 2010
What's up you guys just went car shopping yesterday for my first car hopefully picking it up Tuesday at the dealer... Now I just have a few basic questions about the car, keeping it well maintained and other tips that can help me keep this car for a long time. Now the car I got is a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5 S just under 87k miles and i am absolutely in love with it. Test drove and everything the ride is so smooth! Was given the carfax looks like brakes and rotors were changed back in January 2019... Oil filter and oil change was done last month and the previous 2 owners kept it in amazing condition changing the oil filter every 3,000 miles and the battery was changed last year. So now my question is what would be the best gas for the car? The manual I'm assuming says Regular Unleaded but a buddy of mine told me to always use Premium. Now I used to work at AutoZone so I've learned so much about cars and the parts, changing light bulbs all that fun stuff. Another question is should I use that Lucas Gas Stabilizer thing you pour in at an empty tank then fill up the tank? I know NOT to use it every single time but is it necessary? Should I not put anything like that in the gas and or oil? Any other tips would be wonderful and I look forward to all the helpful responses!!! Btw I'm not a little kid I'm 25 I know you are probably thinking... Wow first car at 25?!? damn but I didn't have anything handed to me, I've had a rough few years of my life with drugs now clean for a little over a year completely clean from everything but of course a beer or two here and there doesn't affect me at all? of course don't drink and drive... I have a healthy and intelligent brain! Thanks again everyone and please refrain from telling me about my mistakes... I lived it and now I've learned it!

Congrats on your personal decision to clean up! Sounds like, you are already into a little preventive maintenance every now and then mode. Regular is fine, and I'd run one bottle of PEA containing injector cleaner just because. After that, change an airfilter (cabin and engine) maybe. You should bleed the brakes if the fluid is any darker than honey, and then again every 2-3 years. Keep an eye on your tires. Service your rear brakes annually, front ones every 2yrs.
Congratulations on your life change desicion, As long as you do things right and you feel happy it's never late to start doing things right, life is not a race and having a car at 25 is not late at all. Here in USA it sounds like, but in most countries a lot of people never have a car at all, so it's great to appreciate that, and that Altima is an awesome car, you can see them everywhere yes, but that doesn't mean it is not as great as it is. I had one like that with 97k miles on October 2016 untill January 2019 with 150k miles and first thing I did was top put new airfilters (cabin, engine)
oil change every 3000 miles with no additives, no cleaner no nothing, as long as you change it often you save money on future problems and do not need additives. Just use synthetic oil and new filter always and you are done.
Then I changed CVT oil (Nissan NS-2 only) like four or five times, I just wanted to have the transmission as healthy as possible.
I changed spark plugs, it's really easy to do, you need some sockets and a long socket for Nissans spark plugs (a bit longer and narrower than usual). I suggest to put the same that the car comes with, they are not cheap.
Then tires, motor mounts and hubs when they started to make noise, valve cover because spark plugs were getting oil, suspension parts, brakes (rotors and pads) and I think that's it, it's a very reliable carT The only thing that failed on mine was a power steering hose. If they are original I suggest you to always have some fluid in the trunk, so if you start hearing noise you can refill and drive the rest without having it to work dry.
i tried with regular gasoline, and some tanks with premium and it's the same, so I suggest use always TopTier regular gasoline. I noticed some non top tier gasoline giving me problems and stopped using them.
