205-50-16 .. If you want 225's you will be looking at either a 225-45-16 or 225-40-16 ......

My wheels had 225-50-16 on when I bough them and I had no problems with clearance (I have a 97). You might want to go with the smaller size for looks though, the sidewall looks pretty tall on that size.

this is still what i'm debating.
i have the same rims as mrdeucie's....
i'd like to go with 215/55-16's.... but my
speedo with be a bit slow.

and i don't think 215/50-16's would look
that good, especially if my suspension is
still stock.
i think the gap will be too much if i go with
the lower profile 50 series tires.

anyone else with thoughts?

why do u have to use 50 profile tires?

go with 60, they wont look dumb with wide tires (215-225) and will make up the gap a little....

there is no going around it, i looked into lowering springs and short thro shocks, but i cant justify the price.... its silly i think, after all it is a family sedan we are talking about !!

cheers

because when you have a 215 tire with the 60 aspect ratio your speedometer will read 6% too slow

and with a 225 width and 60% aspect ratio your speedometer will read 7.9% too slow.

you want to keep your wheel/tire combo in the same diameter as your stock size.
