ok a general question on tire sizes, I got the rimz that are 17 by 7, would I be able to fit 225/45/17 or 215/45/17, what do you guys recommend? I want to be able to race with it without getting a flat tire...lol...happened with the last set I had.

isn't 225 the width of the tire? if so then why would it rub? The 45 should be the factor when lowering your car, I assume?

the width matters cause it can rub on the inside of the well depending on the offset of the rim you are getting. both the height and the width of the tire are factors when the car is lowered.

thanks for the info guys, but I still don't know the effect of 225 and 215 on 7 inch width of my rims... how could a 225 tire fit on a 7 inch width rim? Isn't the rule for 7.5 inch width goes with 225, and 7 inch width goes with 215?

I'm running 225/45ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sports on a 7.5" x 17" Rim with 35 offset. No Rubbing.
