I had to get a new set of tires for my 2002 3.5 SE Altima. I upsized the tires on the standard wheels from 215/55/17 to 235/50/17.
FYI, there aren't any clearance issues and the overall diameter is within 0.1" so there aren't any speedometer issues.
Also, too many people don't know or remember that Nissan specifies a 2lb differential between the front and rear tires with the fronts 2lbs greater on the Gen3 Altima (unsure about other years). Having the correct tire pressures does make a ride and handling difference.
It is important to check the tire pressures after install or rotation with a reliable digital gauge. When I checked the pressures after this install, they were all set to 35lbs!
