Hallo!

This is my first post after a few weeks of lurking around, I finally got up the nerve to ask some questions...

1) (I'm definitely a n00b) How can I tell what gen my car is? I mean, I know it depends on body style and what not, and I've been looking around and it seems like this is an important factor when I plan on putting any large sum of money into my prettie little Alty.

2) When I go into a slower turn (Not too sure about fast turns, been too wary to do that yet, hehe) I hear this moaning noise in my front end. It sounds like my tires are rubbing against something and making this groan, any ideas? My car was in an accident before I bought it, a little front end collision, and I was planning on getting it fixed or fixing it, that was going to be the first big amount of money I put into it, but I was just wondering what I should be looking for.

3) And finally, where can I get an altimas.net license plate frame ;)

yes he does, and I would say you might check the wheel well, and see if anything is close to the tire, and what side is it coming from exactly, or is it both sides?

I can't actually tell what side it's coming from. It seems like it's only happening when I'm moving, but I haven't tested it out while I'm not in motion. I'll do that with someone outside to see and I'll get back to you.

[EDIT]

Yeah, it doesn't happen when I'm stopped, but when I start going it's primarily when I'm going right, we tested it out in a parking lot, won't get a chance to test it out at higher speeds until later.

My cohort said it sounded like it was a "rubbing" or a "straining"... Actually he compared it to a really difficult bowel movement. Also coming mainly from the right side of the car.

Welcome; thank god you are able to communicate properly in English. We can use some more like you. :D

I would possibly investigate steering linkage and CV joints...also make sure your steering fluid isn't low as an immediate solution.
Let me know if that works out...

(first gen is the best by the way :D )

If the tires are the wrong width they will rub against the side splash shields of the engine. Check that too.

So, rubbing in the well, steering linkage, CV joints (which was a problem on my *last* car), I checked the steering fluid when I did my oil and stuff, check the back seat (*wink wink* apparently the porn stars are throwing their voices), and check the wheel width... Sounds like a plan, I'll cross-examine my car and get back to you on this, thanks for all your help. Oh! And Customaltima.com for the frame ;-) And look forward to seeing more communications in proper English, ha.

Thanks again,
