Convincing Hotshot to make 2nd gen header

Since Hotshot already has the header for the 1st gen, they should be able to easily re-tune it for 2nd gen application.

I think Hotshot has potential.

Here's a excerpt from SCC's Project 200sx 1.6...

Because the GAl6-powered Sentra/200SX has been virtually ignored by the performance
aftermarket, (much like the SE-R was before we gave the aftermarket a prod with our project
cars) we were going to have to convince some folks that the GA was indeed worthy. After
hitting up some companies by showing the much larger production numbers for the GA, (SE-Rs
averaged a tiny six percent of Sentra/200SX production) we were able to convince a few to
step up to the plate.

One of the first up to bat was Hotshot. Hotshot is famous for making high-quality headers and
air intakes for niche-market vehicles. Need a header for your Saturn, ZX2 or Neon? Hotshot
has it. Hotshot shared our enthusiasm for the GA16 project and agreed to help. By the time
you read this, Hotshot should have all of these parts into production.
If Hotshot can be convinced to make a header, catback, and intake, simultaneously(!) for the virtually ignored GA16, we should be able to convince them to make a header for 2nd gen applications.

Here's how to contact Hotshot

Anybody else make a catback?

Does anyone besides Greddy make a cat-back for the 1st gens?

Brospeed? DC? Neuspeed? HKS? Paceshitter? Thermal? Borla? Dynomax?

Anyone?

Check this out. This is an email I'm composing to Hotshot. Does this sound good???

I am the proud owner of a 2001 Nissan Altima SE with the KA24DE. I know that Hotshot has a header for the Altima's KA24DE, but its application is for the 92-97 Nissan Altima's.

Myself, and many other 1998-2001 Altima enthusiasts, are very interested in getting a header application specifically tuned for our cars. I would like to know what can I, and the many other 2nd gen Altima owners, do to make a 2nd gen Altima header application a reality.

thank you,

humpty, and others,

Come on... I know a lot of you constamtly complain about there's not parts for our cars. Well, now here's you chance to do something about it. We have to be patient and take one thing at a time. That's why I'm hitting up Hotshot first since they have a header for the 1st gens, but don't have one specifically for 2nd gen application. I think, and I maybe wrong, that it's just a simple matter for Hotshot to re-tune the existing header for 2nd gen application.

I already got ms nismo to send an email inquiring about it today.

Help me with Hotshot. If we can convince Hotshot to make a header for 2nd gen application, it'll be a big victory. And the following challenges will get easier.

One more thing I forgot to mention...

When emailing Hotshot, please write a nice and polite email. Please don't come off sounding like some big shot who's going to pop a cap into someone's @ss if you don't get your way. Basically, don't be childish.

thank you.

I emailed GReddy!!!

Here's what I sent.

To whom it may concern,

People think our cars suck so they don't make any tight parts for them. I would really like a new intake in rainbow colors, clear tail lights and a phizzy phizzat body kit. I'm not really interested in making my car fast but I would buy a supercharger if one were to become available but I'd have to save lots of pennies. Don't make a lame supercharger like Neuspeed does for the VW Golf, that car is still slow even with the SC. Please make our cool cars even cooler. Thanks.

Sincerely,
2Tight

P.S., I will "pop a cap" in all your asses if you don't make shiny parts for my mom's, i mean my car.

OK. I know it's a apathetic one liner. But it's something.

Come on. Help me build up some interest to get the eyes open at Hotshot.

When we first started doing out thing to these cars, there were very few hard-core performance parts available for them. We used to the power of our editorial might to beg, cajole and convince companies to make parts for these Nissans and now, due in part to our efforts, there is quite a booming aftermarket for them.

Due to the huge volume of e-mails we have been flooded with asking about GA16DE parts and the fact that most of the modified Sentras and 200SXs we see are powered by GA16DE's, we expect our new project car to be very beneficial for this large segment of the Nissan performance community.

Okay, you convinced me! I'll have it ready next week...

Seriously, I just contacted one of our customers and he'll
be bringing his
car next week for us to see what is needed.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks

I'm going to send Martha another email asking more questions about this header. But is there anything specific I should be asking.

Plus.... who's Altima is the one going into Hotshot for measurement???
