Oh My God! The manager on duty at West End Nissan was a total jerk! (you can't miss him, he looks like a relic from the '70s with an unbuttoned shirt and a gold chain or two) After telling me "well, you just don't know cars" (fair enough), he proceeded to tell me no Nissan dealer would deal on a 3.5 SE...period.

I could only take his condescending attitude so long, so I mentioned a few Alberta prices I have heard paid (below MSRP), and he seemed to get upset, as though the I had no right to find dealer cost and sample purchase prices!

To make a long story short I left, and vowed to never return...

Can you please tell which Alberta Nissan dealer you ended up buying your Altima from and what I should be prepared to pay for an SE 3.5 with MSRP of $28,098. I am shopping for one now and all three Edmonton dealers told me over the phone (I am from Fort McMurray) they have "negative inventory" and they are now taking orders for September delivery! I am afraid that would give them an advantage in negotiating with retail customers. Thank you.

Agreed. My elderly father is being victimized in a classic bait and switch by these guys. He put down a deposit, which they eagerly cashed, on a 2011 mirano. He picked the color and everything. The vehicle never showed up. He was told that it was on the train, then two weeks later that it had been in a crash, and now today he was told that there never was a vehicle available. They offered a 2012, but at a vastly higher interest rate and purchase price than what was initially agreed upon. After a loud exchange in the showroom, we were escorted out. I guess they did not like having their actions questioned. I say buy a nissan, but not here
