ok im tryin to install a kenwood LZ700 monitor. the power cable has 5 lines.
Battery power (Yellow)
Accessory power (red)
Ground Cable (Black)
Ilumination Cable (Orange)
Parking brake detection Cable (green)

what the heck are the last 2 cables for?
im guessing illumination cable is for a switch. but what of the Parking Brake Cable? the tech site for kenwood said that if the parking brake cable is not connected properly i wont get any video images! but whe does it go????? help would be greatly apreciated

ok i did a search and found i could ground it. but one more question. cant i just connect all three battery accessory and illumination cables and just hook it up to accessory?
No, the 'battery' cable needs to be connected to a constant +12 V line (the battery line) so that your unit will remember the time, station numbers, etc. Your Acc. line should be connected to the factory Acc. line so that the unit will know when to turn on. And the Illumination wire is optional (but I think Altimas have it, I know 1st gens do). When you connect it, the illumination on the units buttons and display will automatically dim when your headlights are turned on.
