Hey all,

Wanted to start a new thread on this topic since I am still waffling between two makes of winter rubber for my 3.5 5spd.

TOYO Garit HT's 225/55/16
YOKOHAMA Gardex 720's 215/60/16 (better fit)

Considerations:

1/ 16" Nissan steel rim (fits brakes)
2/ Higher performance tire for those dry days
3/ Medium compound to extend tire life
4/ Price
5/ Aggressive Looks

For other thread...pls. refer to 2nd page listing for some history and information.

Cheers,

DaKid

DaKid, today I ordered the Yoko Guardex 720 in 215/60-16. As I may have stated before, I like Toyo tires but the Yoko offers a better fit. As stated in an earlier thread, go with bolt pattern 5 X 114.3 for the 16" rim.

thinking about it, it's kind of funny that with the current system, the width of the tire is given in millimiters, but the size of the rim is given in inches hehe.

I think the Yokohamas, with a slightly narrower profile, will plow through thick snow better than the Toyos.
