Ok so the manual says 5 quarts of oil w/ filter change, but I found this http://www.infinitihelp.com/QR/04G35.pdf same engine and they call for 5 quarts. What do you guys do when doing oil changes. Kinda frustrates me that .5 quart leftover in the 5 quart jug.

When I change my oil and filter, I put in 4.5 qts, start the engine and let it run till the oil light goes off. I let the car sit for about 15 minutes, then check the dipstick and add oil until it reaches the full mark. I also recheck after letting the car sit over night. Add oil if it isn't at the full mark. Depending on how much of the old oil is drained, it takes about 4.6 to 4.8 qts. I save the left over oil for the next oil chage.

I do 4.5 but I usually need the other .5 before 3000 miles is up. I guess I could just overfill it a little. I dont have any cats to worry about hurting anyway:)

I use ~4.5 qt and check the dipstick. I add the other half quart around 4k miles and change between 6.5-7k miles depending on the oil analysis that I do every at 6.5k miles. I basically change oil twice a year, use full syntheic and puralator pure one filters. I've had several oil analysis done at Blackstone that support my schedule, it is what is right for me, I don't know what it right for anyone else nor do I suggest anyone follow what I do. Driving habits, enviroment, oil and filter type and so on all play a part.

Yes its the same engine, but not the same lay out. Its rear wheel calling fora different oil pan making up your .5liter left over. Volume depends on the filter you use, how much sludge is still left in the pan, type of oil, etc...Like stated best way is to put 4.5 in it and measure up to the full level after runningfor a few min. I usually use right at 5 liters with Greddy 5W20 full synthetic.
