Incorrect. Technical Service Bulletins are are simply a resource for service technicians. If Nissan identifies a recurring problem or complaint, they describe the repair procedure and specify the warranty time that will be paid to perform the repair. This saves the customer's time and Nissan's money and results in a better service experience for everyone involved. Not all cars will have the problem, because for example not all owners will consider the fact that they can hear the shift lock relay click to be a problem. Complainers will get the TSB performed.
And all TSB's expire as the manufacturer corrects them in production.

I got ahold of the TSB. It's a long story how. It applies to cars manufactured before Oct. 9, 2001. I'm happy now that I can fix the car myself.

So, does it make sense to post these TSB's somewhere for everyone to see?

And by the way, there is also a Service Update (might be different from a TSB) out on the rear thumping. I am trying feverously to get ahold of this one. Will keep you posted.

Just finished installing the rubber isolation bumpers. Took about an hour and a half. Could have done it in an hour but it is close to 100 degrees today and I had to take a few breaks or I would have dripped sweat all over the interior. The shift lock is much quieter now. Not eliminated completely but you would really have to be listening closely to notice it.

jvitale, would you mind posting the TSB?

I just checked my car. I have a light click noise when I push the brake pedal. My car was made 10/1/2001, so I know I fall under the TSB.

jvitale thanks a million for posting that TSB. I think its great that you made this available for us in the forum and I think a common place for posting complete TSB's would be a great idea. I've had this noise since I bought the car last November and the dealer said it was normal. I'll see what they say now after giving them the number for this TSB.

I just got new coils and the static is supposed to be gone. Willy tells me his is great and can pick up many more stations. I`ll have to take a drive to the area that I noticed the ticking(static).
