hmm hadn't heard abt this, thanks for the info guys.

just got it in took me about 10 min to update and install and it actually made a difference it had 2 options regular and premium regular adds 10 and premium 20 from what they said i took governer off and it works my 0-60 got a lil better to

overall im suprised

anyone in socal want it just let me know since i got it i just let u guys use it too

i go to socal a lot. my parents live in brea. its just north of anaheim/placentia. when im down next, im meeting up with N4L hopefully and maybe i can meet up with you too.

The transmission has it's own separate programmable control unit called a TCU (transmission control unit) or TCM (transmission control module). It would not affect it in any way. If you do go to the dealer you can always unload the flash and be on your merry way :)
And yet another reason for me to enjoy the fact that I own a 6 speed manual transmission on my 2.5S instead of the CVT transmission.

I like being able to go past 85mph at full throttle in any gear I choose.
The car doesn't feel any need to protect its vital parts from my desires to watch the speedo go further to the right.

BC.

I don't get what you're proposing. The CVT will pretty much do the same that you're describing. The only limiting factor is the rev limiter, which you also happen to have. Besides that, can't think of anything else.

hey all if you have any questions, just let me know. there is only so much im aloud to talk about. if you would like to talk personally call 1866 285 5936 ext.1146 names hadley. thanks
if you want to sell a product, and market it to a large group of people, I think you should post some information. you come on here with a phone number, make no mention as to how or why this thing can instantly up the power on an altima, and last time I checked out the website, there was no mention about how this thing works, other than 'magically' increase hp. Seems kind of shady to me. why is there no mention in writing about how your product achieves its claim? Am I supposed to just shell out $400 based on the word of a salesman?

on a side note guys: I am selling a programmer that will work on all altimas. It's awesome! Just plug it in, press a button and you will automatically get 50hp to the wheels. Just give me a call and I will tell you all about it(for liability purposes I don't want to put anything in writing), then just mail me a check for $400 and I will send you your gift:)

m_turner_02, before you flame you should consider that it's a delicate balance of sharing information and keeping to intellectual property. If bullydog posted the complete ins and outs of their procedures then the competition would be able to reverse-engineer it and undercut their market. I'm not saying I'm satisfied with throwing around money for things and just taking the seller's word for it, but rather than looking under the proverbial hood, we should look at results. Even my tuner will never release me an open map so I can see exactly what parameters they've tuned. All I see is the logs and, well, how the car pulls :D
So, in other words, rather thank asking for tuning parameters which they will never release, I think we should ask for some dyno runs. Being that this product is backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, I really see no reason why those tempted to try it would not simply buy it and if they don't like the results, return it.

I am not asking for a detailed explanation of what this does, but something other than select the premium setting and you will get +20hp would be nice. Kind of like the TS flash tells you what they do, just not how they do it. They(bullydog) could easily tell us that they advance timing, adjust some fuel parameters, and change cvtc maps and not disclose information that will be detrimental to their sales. That's all I am asking for....just an explanation. And I agree with what you are saying fish. I shouldn't have been so harsh in my post, I just would like some decent info

I will say this. You get what you pay for. Technosquare's reflash is somewhat of a pro-tune, is it not? It takes into consideration your mods and tunes accordingly. It also happens to be almost twice as expensive This device is loaded with OTS maps (off the shelf) that are in no way personalized and are meant for a wide range of applications (meaning they need to NOT screw up any Altima). I can pretty much tell you they tune your AFR, fuel trim, timing and a few other parameters. Take their claims with a grain of salt, of course. I think the key word is "up to". If they take a car, tune it, put it up on a dyno and they get 20 extra horses, that doesn't mean you'll get that. OTS maps are very ... unpredictable I would say but that's not the right word. Two different cars can net completely different gains.

I subscribe to your proposition, actually. I think their details are too sketchy. It would be nice to see the information that they base their gain claims on and also at least SOME summary of what they actually tune. They are probably banking on the customer's eagerness to try it, but I think they are also losing some potential sales due to lack of info.

ok, so I called them and asked one of their technicians about this thing and here are some of the answers I got:

'well it basically adjusts internal engine settings'
'basically all it does is adjusts the air to fuel ratio'
'and you can monitor in car settings'
'it adjusts the timing 2 degrees, which is where a lot of the power comes from'
'you can calibrate the speed setting for bigger or smaller wheels'
'raise the pressure in automatic transmission lines to increase the speed of shifts'
'remove rev limiter and speed limiter'
'with the regular tune you will get 15hp and with the premium tune you will get right at 20'

These are the notes I jotted down as I was talking to the guy, it was not the guy from bullydog who posted on here. But the guy I talked to didn't seem very knowledgeable, and sounded borderline irritated that I was asking him these questions and prodding for more information. This was just my experience with one technician, and the answers I was able to extract from him. I hope someone buys this and has success with it, and then posts their results. Until then I will remain skeptical of this, and question the claimed gains of their product and how it works.

raise the pressure in automatic transmission lines to increase the speed of shifts
I don't wanna call straight up bullshit on this so I'll just say I am very skeptical. I'm fairly familiar with my JATCO transmissions. So far, nobody has been able to crack the Transmission Control Module which is a separate entity than the ECU. This means that you can't raise the line pressure without directly interfacing with the TCU or manipulate other settings in any other way. The only way I know so far to increase line pressure is through actual hardware mods done by companies such as IPT (Import Performance Transmissions). These guy have been building and tuning JATCO trannies for a living for a long time. They know the ins and outs. Go to their site. They will tell you the same thing I told you.

So unless Bullydog comes back with a thorough explanation as to how they manage to manipulate the AT line pressure, I'm going to say it's a false claim and they are banking on the fact that nobody will bother to check if the line pressure has actually changed.

Us Subie guys have been drooling over the possibility of interfacing with the JATCO TCU for as long as I can remember. Don't tell me some off-the wall company managed all of a sudden to do so, when others such as Cobb Tuning or IPT never did.

20hp out of an OTS tune is at the crank and still seems like a high number to me.

the thing that bothers me is the lack of info this company is willing to dole out in order to sell their 'awesome' product. I mean, when I asked the tech about it, his first answer was that they adjust internal engine settings...come on. I had to press and press to actually get a halfway decent answer out of the guy, and he is right, I bet the majority of their gains come from the timing advancement....this has been proven to increase performance. But for $450 I would rather get the TS flash, of pick up a used Cipher for $200 to moniter ecu parameters and adjust timing. That is the one thing that bothers me, is that this company has purposely not posted any worthwhile information about this thing in an effort to get people to buy a $450 engine monitoring device.

I challenge Hal, or anybody else from the bullydog programmer company to get on here and post up some dyno results from an altima, and/or a solid explanation of what this thing exactly does to provide ~20hp at the flip of a switch. Until then I will remain VERY skeptical of this product and this company and continue to voice my skepticism

It's not hard to test to see if it is true. They have a try it before you buy it at local place that carry them. Not sure how it works but they say you go there they put the tune on that last only 3 to 5 days some how. So if this is true and someone has easy access to a dyno just do a dyno then go to the shop get the tune and then go and dyno again. To me it just sounds like a timing advance and a monitor.

I think even your dealer can do a timing advance and it would probably cost you an hour labor at most, which is generally well under $100

Good or bad, let us know what the outcome is

There are so many variables here-none of you has a clue as to what your talking about. No one is going to notice 10 f'n hp at 6000rpm! Fishbone I almost always agree with you-until I see you respond to every stupid remark and add 10 more variables to a stupid question. Are you guys really non-stop tuning your cars? BTW wait until you guys actually own a real car like a BMW and see what real tuning is all about.

I disagree on the BMW remark, those cars are pretty stellar out of the box. They're not exactly tuner cars due to the fact they cost an arm and a leg to do so, plus their electronics oftentimes get in the way. But I guess sometimes that's a good thing, since the electronic system will often throw error codes on the dashboard when ricers try to hook up mad HID kits y0.
