I see that a lot of people on this site do a lot of their repairs by themselves. What are some of the tools needed for scheduled maintenance projects that come up for example socket/ wrench sizes, ratchet drive sizes, specialty tools needed for maintenance. In a simpler manner, what are the tools needed in everyones garage to keep their car up to spec without taking it to a shop.
Thanks in advance i hope we can get a good list going!

For doing brakes, I prefer using a ratcheting wrench set over a socket set. (notice this is my preference...a socket set or regular combination wrench set will work as well.)

And they should be metric, no English unit hardware on this car.

A good 3/8 ratchet set would be a very good idea as well.

-latex gloves
-shop towels perhapse
-prybar

14mm for the pads.

The set I bought came with 10-18mm I believe. It was ratchet on one end and open on the other.

Also another tool you will need is the service manual or a Haynes manual. Service manual is free here. You gotta pay for the Haynes manual.
