Ok well I have a 05 3.5 and my father has a 06 2.5 and both of us have had our driver seat lock in one position my fathers started to recline and then would not come back up. my seat did the complete opposite. My father brought his to the stealership and they replaced the switch on the side for 300 bucks but it stopped working again now they are saying it is the motor on the seat which will be 1300. I think I might be having the same problem. Has anyone had the same problem, I find it hard to believe it is just the two of us. any sugestions or how I could deal with this issue??

Underneath the seat you can see the mechanism/motor that move the seats when you use the controls. Look underneath and hit the switch for whatever doesnt work, look for something not connected mechanically. It will be obvious if you look under there, I cant really explain it but it is real easy to figure out when you start moving the seat all around.

if the seat will go 1 way but not the other , its the switch
if the seat won't move at all , it could be the switch but its most likely the motor

$300 for a switch ? wow thats alot , $1300 for a motor :confused2 for that much you can buy 2 new non-power after market seats . get the parts from the junkyard .

p.s. my chair back will only go forward , so i have to go to the dealer to get my switch replaced , luckily my car is still under warrenty :woot:

i have always hated power seats !!!

the dealer had to replace the motor/switch in my seat (to recline/incline the back) . at first the seat would only go forward and not back so i thought it was the switch only , but then seat back wouldn't move at all . the bad seat motor killed the switch so both had to be replaced . my car is under warranty so the dealer changed the motor/switch and everything is fine now .

Yes I have a 2010 Nissan Altima and my seat won't recline forward or backwards I called the dealership at first they told it would be 1100.00 to fix it I tried to explain all I need was the switch then they tried to tell me it was all in together meaning they wanted me to buy a whole new seat which I'm not going to do I believe they told me this bc I'm a woman and they think I'm dumb there's no way I'm going to buy a new seat😁

You'll need to get a new aftermarket switch via Amazon, or some other Co. I have to do the same sometime soon myself. My recline also wouldn't go back up until I disassembled the switch and got it into a comfortable position permanently. Sucks if someone else needs to drive though, until I do. The slide back also only works sporadically. You have to be VERY careful when choosing a new one though. Switches that are similar looking are being pushed by Amazon, that will not actually fit. Mine is an 11' Altima Coupe 3.5SR.
