I like everyone else wasn't looking forward to the insurance bill due at the end of next month, but at least i knew what i was going to be paying UNTIL I opened the letter and suprise suprise it was like $120 more than it ever was since i bought the car in 2001!!!

I started thinking that there must have been a mistake...etc until i read the following:

"The Claim experience on your make and model of vehicle has resulted in an increase to your vehicle rating group for comprehensive and/or collision coverages".

"Your vehicle safety discount has been reduced for your medical payments coverage".

then on the back it went on to explain that State farm reviews the medical payments and personal injury protection coverages claims every year resulting in either an increase or decrease :angry4:

I dont know about anybody else, but that doesn't sound good:confused:
I have been with the Famr for over 10 years with no claims...We got our premiums for the cars and home and I said to my wife..What the fukk is this..Oh hell no..I have 500,000 k in life insurance with the bastards too.....I made one car and saved 500.00+ for the year with much better coverage on the home and cars. Fukk the farm..My agent is a good friend too. They had increases across the board..

I am with Cotton States Ins..I pay $111.00 a month for FULL coverage with all the add-ons for TWO cars..One being a Cavalier Z24 Convertible that my wife drives and she is only 23..So I do not feel that bad after all...Also for you homeowners, as I am sure might know, you get a bigger discount if you insure your cars and house all with the same company....

Ya'll stop complaining. Wait till you have 17 year old son added to your policy with his own car. I am paying $411.00/month for my 03 Altima 3.5, 04 Maxima and 98 Altima. We have 50/100/50 full coverage on both new vehicles and just liablity on the 98. Our rates jumped from $189.00 when we added my son and his car. This is with Allstate which nobody around here could compete with their rates. It helps to have your homeowners and life insurance with the same company also.

A little known fact with Allstate is that if you have your life insurance with them, they can never drop your auto insurance no matter how many wrecks/tickets you get. Of course they can bleed you by raisings the rates.

My statefarm insurance for my Altima went up also...and to make it even worse after I paid the first bill they sent me a second one! WTF? So I went over there and straightened things out lol... (non-violent :p)

Insurance @$$es

Laughably,

In Canada the insurance companies applied for three rate increases in the last two years (it's regulated because auto insurance up here is mandatory by law in the bulk of the provinces) claiming that they were hurting financially, that they were paying $1.06 out in claims for every $1.00 they were making.

So they posted their profits for last year: $2.6 billion.

Sucks to be them don't it?

Pucking liars. I had State Farm quote me $5,400.00 per year in insurance last year before I found my current insurer who is charging me $2,200.00 per year.

But here the Altima is considered to be a fairly low risk vehicle according to the Vehicle Information Centre.

Do y'all think the recalls affected this in the sense of people getting into accidents becasue their cars died on the highway, didn't accelerate when were coming out of a driveway, etc...?

I thinks so, cause the 3rd gen altima is getting a lot of recalls and ours already broke down twice, and once in a middle of a busy intersection:(

I too have State Farm and I'm paying $1080/yr for a 2k3 SE and $960/yr for a '99 GLE for full coverage on both. I also have homeowner's insurance with them. This is after a total annual increase of $100 in Feb. No complaints. I've been pleased with SF's claim process, and haven't been given any premium increases after a claim. :)

1500.00 year

Shop around Forget about a good neighbor..Get a great one

My insurance just went down from $576 every six months to $492 every six months. That's insurance on my 02SE and my wife's 95 Saturn SL2. I also have Home Owners and Flood Ins. with USAA. I guess I'm just one of the luck ones.

Damn... Hope I don't get a letter. Oh well, we'll see.

Just an FYI - I am in Dallas, TX. I pay about $940 per 6 months for 2 cars, insured all the way, though the roof (my wife's car is a lease so we HAD to, and having both on the same policy...).

I did a lot of shopping for insurance and have switched from Geico to Progressive to Allstate and now I am with - you would never guess it - American Express!?

https://www64.americanexpress.com/autohome/servlet/QuoteServlet

Might want to get a free quote. Since being with Amex, I checked few other places like AAA, and some other insurance company that I got in my mail - and they could not match what I have now without lowering my coverage...

dam i just got a quote for 94 se 1400.00/ 6 months from geico and some other campany wanted 4000.00/year new york is crazy
