Hey the engine runs good no knock smoke burn oil. I took the oil pan off got to the oilpump and it was locked up I'm putting both new shafts in is there a certain way they need to go in ? Any diagram or information would be appreciated
Thank you
If pump locked with engine running and it ran longer than 60 seconds then engine is likely junk. I used to build engines for a living. 60 seconds with no oil is commonly a scrapped engine.
You asked for it and hope you grasp it. The oil pan, oil pump and balancer shaft parts are all a master assembly and you do NOT take them apart as they are match machined together as one unit and timed together as well. See the note from Nissan to NOT mess with the pump on page EM-27. If you disassemble match machined parts and simply bolt them back together commonly they will tear something up as the parts are no longer in their original match locations. And yes, the shafts are timed and wrong will shake the car apart when balancer is timed wrong.
