was the motor revving like normal and the car just won't move or did it seem like the motor wasn't revving up either?

If it happens again, pay attention to the RPMs and what the car is doing. If it's the transmission, the motor should still rev up, but the car will barely move. if it's something on the motor causing the problem, it should barely rev. I'm thinking it's most likely something on the transmission, especially since when those trans get hot, the car barely works, and those things are always running hot.
