I am going to see if I can dyno this up coming week.

122 whp for a 2.5s 4th gen. I highly doubt its that low stock. I could see around 140-145. Besides I can still beat some V6 engines.

Domestic V6s yes, Import V6s not likely

You are correct. Most domestics I can beat or keep up with, but there are some I can't. Import it depends on how old they are and if they are stock. The new ones, no. I will obviously get my arse handed to me.

Nope...it didnt work. A top gear video comes up. What were your numbers?

Nice numbers. What mods? With numbers like those you should be well into high-mid 13's.

Edit: Just noticed in your sig that u ran a 14.4. Thats really slow for 265whp and 256wtq. What type of dyno was this? Even the trap is low.

that 14.4 was with my old sloppy clutch and a tranny that had to be replaced a little later. You will need to search for my thread in the racing section about our track day. you will see the reason for the slower times and speed. not gonna post it all on this thread

Is that the same dyno you had 261whp from before?

When I dynoed my car stock, I put down 231 WHP and track time was14.180@100 MPH.

With the Fujita, Ypipe and two mufflers, I did 13.8@103 MPH.

So the power is there definitely, its just my 215/55/17 tires are maxed out.

So did another run with drag radials and pulled off a 13.4@104 MPH.

Power is there, we just need the traction now.

hey shawn, you ever tried one with stock wheels? Those 20's are shaving off a few ponies I'm sure.

I can see a lot of reasons for not having 20s on an Altima- but I don't think they cut into the hp. If the wheel/tire combo is heavier than stock, the added mass/inertia would cut into acceleration, and should be factored into the set-up of a chassis dyno, but it won't really cut into the hp.

my 20s are a lil heavier than the stock 17s. Not a whole lot, but enough. They do take a lil more initial power to get them moving, but i think the output to the ground can't be more than 2-3hp. But even with 20s, this car still accelerates fast as hell, but from a dig they hold me back. From a roll, its a different story, they don't seem to hold me back at all if I'm already in motion.

I have a scangauge hooked up in my 2.5 and on the HP readout, the computer in the car is telling the SG to read right around 190ish at 5800 RPM. I know that this readout is based on flywheel figures, so that would put the 2.5 around the 150 WHP range. I think that is about right for a mostly stock 2.5.
