Where to buy nismo parts in Canada?

Hi everybody, I'm from Montreal, Canada and I have my black SE-R since last september. Now, the winter will end (some day I hope) and I want to put the Nismo CAI.

Does someone has a place I can go or order on the net in Canada? At the dealer, the best price I could have was $450 for the CAI (not installed). If in the USA, someplaces with a low cost for the shipping because I know the taxes and other fees will be somewhat high. I don't wanna have extra $150 for the shipping like buynissanparts...

Is the CAI is easy to install and what special tools do I need? My friend installed his AEM CAI on his RSX and it took almost 8 hours. It was a real pain in the a$$.

Thanks everybody!

I'm in the same boat (from Toronto). Most, if not all, of the Canadians here have purchased their performance parts from a US distributor. If you look around (ebay, courtesyparts etc) you'll see the NISMO CAI anywhere from $230US to $280US. BUT, in order to get it to Canada you'll have to pay for shipping, duty, brokerage, taxes, etc. etc. About another $150Cdn. There is an online retailer based in Missisauaga that sells the AEM for $345CDN - I can give you the link if you want.

As for installation, you got me as I haven't got that far yet. With a little mechanical inclination prolly shouldn't take you more than 2 hours tops.

Hope that helps.

I'm not sure how far you guys are from the border but for us over here in the West Coast especially in the GVRD its a lot easier to get stuff shipped to us via a mail center just over the border.

We can get the items shipped to this place, using any courier like Fedex or UPS and then go pick it up from the place and pay a nominal "storage fee" (usually 2-3 bucks per box), usually you don't even have to pay a rental fee as its a one time thing and its good for people who don't get things all the time and just cross the border. Of course you still have to pay customs when you declare it (unless you get a guy in a good mood that just waves you through).

Personally I used thelettercarrier<dot>com to get my winter wheel package from tire rack. Even with the custom charges it was still a lot cheaper than getting a package here in Vancouver.

I do the same thing. Either I go down for a weekend and annoy the front desk staff with all the boxes being delivered or I drop ship them to a brokerage house and go pick them up. It is a 2-hour run to the border from Winnipeg and back so it is not that bad. You do pay duty, but that is a lot easier to handle then the brokerage fees from UPS etc which are usually about 50% of the purchase price.

Good excuse to go for a drive.

If you are around Bramptom North Nissan, you could try Johnny O there. He is the service manager and he gives the guys from Toronto Maxima good service. I had asked him if he could get Nismo parts about a year ago and he said yes and he would discount it a bit. It's worth a try.
Also Oakville Infiniti/Nissan sells and installs Nismo and performance goodies, I know a few G35 folks that have been happy with them.

Hey Jeang, try out RMR autosport, that's where I got mine, an AEM and I got it installed, they do it in under one hour and they have the best prices as well, I paid mine 413$ tax in and installed.

Let me know if you need the coordinates. I've had mine installed since last summer and I am still enjoying every minute of it...

By the way, I bought my SE=R at Spinelli Nissan, not only do they sell that Nismo CAI, they install it too. However, I wouldn't recommend dealers, way too $$$$.

This may help: http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html

If you can get the shipper to send it "Expedited" instead of ground, the brokerage is included. Usually the expedited service is cheaper than ground+brokerage, plus its faster to boot.

However, I'm not sure what the UPS US equivalents are. They have "Red", "Orange", etc. I use UPS everyday at work, and I can't figure out why Canada/US services are so different and confusing.

Thanks, I know them. they can have almost anything you want to tune a car. I think I'll go with them if I can't find a cheaper price.
