When you say wobble, do you mean the floaty feel at higher speeds? I remember my Alti used to feel like it was all over the road when I had the stock tires and not lowered. I put some new tires on and lowered the car....it completely solid after that.
No, it's not the floaty feeling at higher speeds, where it feels like a boat. My issue is a noticeable wobble/shimmy from side to side when I hit higher speeds. If I don't let off the gas, it gets worse and gives me the feeling of loosing control. Weird thing is, it doesn't happen everytime I hit higher speeds.

My tires are about 2 years old [Avon Tech M550's A/S]

I just did some searching and the wobbling could also be caused by a damaged or broken Tire Belt.

I have no wobbling issues either and my tires are out of balance and the rear tires are two different brands (previous owner:crazy:). I topped the thing out once (140+) and other than the rediculously light steering at high speeds, it felt solid as a rock. Its on eibachs.

I have an SE R and it's very stable at high speed but still gets pushed around pretty good in strong winds.

If it's not a floaty feeling you're experiencing then it could be a broken tire belt. I had a similar problem when I had 2 sets of different tire brands on my old G35. It was downright scary at high speeds until I changed them out with the same tires on all four corners. So it sounds like it's something to do with your tires.

Its may be the rack! I had the same problem and replacing the inner and outer tie rods was not the trick. I did find out though how to check and see if you have the same problem. Remove your wheel and tire, pop up/off the outer tie rod (do not unscrew just remove from the bearing assenbly) and just let it hang down, remove the clamp holding the boot on the rack side, pull the accordian/boot toward you as far as you can till its almost inside out, put a wrench on the inner tie rod ball/screw and push it in a downward direction. If it moves easily (like mine did) the rack is toast. I will be posting HOW TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION this month.

Okay, I finally figured out the problem. Nissan had a Pot Hole Special for $99.99 going on which included...

*Balance All 4 Tires
*Alignment
*Rotate tires

and it SOLVED my wobble issue! I spoke to the tech that worked on my car and he said my back left wheel was totally off alignment and facing a little out to the left. My car is back to normal and driving well. He did mention that I would need to replace the steering column/rack, but not for awhile.

This was well worth the $100!

THE STEERING RACK?!?! I mean come on, bad sensors and cat converters i can understand (barely) but the steering rack? I got bad tie rod ends now, hell i might as well save up and replace the whole front suspension at the same time (@ 136K all OEM)

went 148 in my SER, stock suspension, no issues :)

check tires for weird wear, have your car aligned, and make sure your wheels arent bent

The rack in the altima is feeble. If you live in a high pothole/worst streets in the US type of place like me the DC metro area you may have to end up replacing it. My drivers side rack arm was very loose. When I jacked up my car I could wiggle it easily. I got a used one off an 06 3.5 with 20,000 miles $135. They are $400ish reman (carquest), and $1100 dealer.
