Well, I looked at the breakdowns and although they don't really illustrate it that well I don't think the guts from a 6 speed will fit in a KA case. You might be best sending yours away to be shot peened and cryo treated. If you happen to find a used B15 6 speed in a junkyard though for a couple hundred bucks it might be worth it to crack them both and get a better look.

this is exactly wut i had in mind wut would be occuring... while im outside working.. keep updated (if anything) wut info you grab.. ill do some searching tonight...

juss so im clear we figured out wut needs too be down to use this tranny.. were just breaking it down to simplfy cost as well wuts needed etc..?

no, using this tranny will be a pain in the ass. i mean its possible ,but like that guy said, its gonna require custom clutch (cus thats changing location) and axles (cus the transmission will be shaped a little different, may need diff length/splines on either end) as well as the adapter (to bolt it up to the motor).

in essence: **** that. if i blow my tranny, ill send it in for cryo/shotpeen. if i blow that one, ill look into having a full one built.

lol no 6speed for us damn it!!!.... oohhhh well we can always go with the GTi-R tranny? dont kno the specs of it... i want sumthing shorter (if possible) then our 00-01 5speed trannies

Just change the final drive to the one from a 93-94 SE. It's shorter.

yea, shaner i think did use parts (or all of?) a gti-r tranny. never looked into it. dont need shorter gears, just add more power :p

If anything you may want a taller gearset.

well im having controversy between the power im making (check my blueprint for guessimated whp) and my gear ratios... i would like too get the most outta my power thru my gears without going custom and dropping franklins all over.. basically in my mind set.. possibily gti-r tranny? or a 00-01 tranny with possibly 93-94 last gear or sumthing of this sort...

Pm'ed to avoid taking this thread OT.

i appreciate the courtesy but this thread's done really. tranny wont work w/o more work than i want to do at this point. ive already custom fabbed/hammered/bled enough on this damn thing. i can take out a tranny in 2 hours so if i have to blow a few between now and when i have one built, **** it.

Ya, I'm at the same point. It's really not that hard to put the trans on the floor in these cars.

right, which means altering the clutch, axles, and an adapter. possible, and probably not TOO bad.. but more than i want to deal with. its going to be easier to just have a tranny built and keep the crap native than it is to do that.

For what it's worth....I do remember (i believe it was redlion) said you could use the sentra 6 spd as long as you used a different bellhousing.
The thing is on our tranny's the bell is cast into the case half so you can't just switch bells like you can on some other trannys. So like eclypse said you gotta make an adapter, possibly get a longer input shaft, custom axles and clutch kit. Too much work for most...

im gonna blow this one while disassembling my only LSD tranny. ill build it up with cryo/shotpeen and a WPC style treatment (or anything else similar that helps it retain oil), and weld up that spot they showed was weak. when this one blows ill do a real one like Jose's built.

very nice =].. my tranny is prob gonna be along rebuilding it using different gears from diff years plus maybe a 93-94 se LSD IF i can get my hands on it... no rush on it.. but sumthing i would love too do... i wont be making enough power too grind out my gears.. only if im a bad driver.... LOL

if you do a 93-94 tranny, the crank position sensor is NOT on that tranny, just forewarning. im not sure what that'll invoke the factory ECU to do. AEM EMS didnt care, but i didnt know that. i spent 3 days figuring that one out ;)
