Hello everyone. I found my cousin a 2009 Altima recently. Real nice looking car with the nismo lip kit. It had 190k kms or about 118k miles on it. They drove it home 400kms and around for about 2 weeks before the transmission suddenly failed.

We are looking for a used cvt to swap in, and i found someone parting out a 2007 altima which recently had its transmission replaced by a nissan dealership last year. Now, my question is, will this cvt work in the 2009 model year?

If not, what years would? And what would you need to make the swap done properly (valve, body, solenoids, tcm etc.)?

Thanks!

Thanks, sorry i missed putting that it is a 2.5 S model. From my research, it seems the number i get for the cvt comes up as RE0F10A which says it is the cvt transmission for 2007-2012 Nissan Altima 2.5 models. Is this correct as well? I assume the numbers listed above are the "NISSAN" part numbers.

I have faith that the transmission will fit, its more the "other" stuff i'm worried about. Like is the valve body the same, any electronic sensors/connectors that may be different and such. If anyone could chime in about knowledge of that, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes PN above is the Nissan PN for your year and 2.5 engine. it is identical from 2007 through 2010...so those will all interchange. You may want to get the TCU from the donor vehicle as well as transmissions need 'reprogramming' at the dealer if you swap another one in, at least that way you bring its electronic history and tuning with it.
