So my Altima is finally on the block to be sold. I believe I have a failing BCM - sometimes the gas pedal won't respond, the speeo needle won't move and dash lights don't light. And then when the car is restarted, everything's fine. Sucks, but it rarely gets driven because I now have an Xterra and with these low gas prices...Bad mileage doesn't matter!
Dang sucks to hear you having all those issues.

The 1st & 2nd Genners have a thread like this in their forum and it has turned out to be very popular and successful. This will be an ongoing discussion thread for 3rd Gen shop-talk and chatting.

No flaming. No noob questions. No politics, sports, etc. (take that stuff to Off-Topic). Just Nissan enthusiasts coming together and talking shop.

Ok sooo I’ve been in the process of doing the Akebono Big brake upgrade I just wanted to know if anyone knows which is best to use the M35 or 350z? And which SS brake lines I should use?

Check out this thread...past wisdom says to use the M35/45 front calipers...but you have some grinding to do.

I used the '06 M35/45 front calipers on my '09 Gen4...no grinding needed, but great 2-piston peformance over stock. Just make sure you get the right year for the M calipers for your Gen3.

Ty for passing down the wisdom

Used a cricut machine to get some custom letters in a single 4" hood stripe for my 04. I just tried using some script font for the word Nissan, from top to bottom (that means not standard side to side, left to right orientation) I cannot get the double SS to center. Both end up to far left of stripe... Ugh. Where can I get custom scripted font on premium vinyl?? Anyone?? TIA

Oh well. Just as I get my 02 SE into great condition, I am selling it. I just changed all the injectors for new and replaced two dodgy coil packs. I took it on the National Road for a blast and when the cams shifted, the engine sounded just amazing, it went to 6000 in second gear and passing 60mph. But... my sister in law bought a new car and offered me her 2011 Toyota Camry XLE with just 85,000 km for the trade-in price. It has the 6-speed auto box with manual option. And 25HP more. I could not resist...

Trying to help friend. 2006 Altima 2.5 S... has key fob that also starts car remotely. It is currently lost in house somewhere. 1st. Do they leave factory with this feature or is it there only cause kit was installed. Cant find definitive answer. 2nd. If factory I cant locate replacement key fob.. if kit installed... can fob be bought alone to be programmed.. or whole new kit have to be bought?

Any and ALL POSSIBLE help would be extremely welcomed and appreciated. Ty

Additionally, the fob she described as being triangle shaped.. all fobs I have found that come WITH the Altima are ALL either square or rectangular.. have lock/unlock trunk release and panic buttons.. none seem to include the remote start motor button.. so I really cant help but believe one lost in her house was bought and installed by car owner after purchasing car. Feel finding easy replacement... Easy wont be involved the slightest..

That remote start system is def aftermarket. Try to find out the brand of the alarm system and contact the company or if you have prior owner records of the shop they used etc.

I had to replace mine 7 times it seems last 3 years. Junkyard used worn coated me $20 a trip for one.. recently ordered online, got 2 brand new for $14... both for $14.. wont be wasting my $ at junkyard again. I kinda got screwed each visit. No more tho. Thank you.. have a good one.
